AMC 8 Preparation

Duration: 17 classes, 1.5 hours each

Time: Every Wednesday at 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm PST and Saturday at 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm PST, starting 6/15/22

Description: This AMC 8 preparation class is meant to help students focus on some of the most commonly occurring problems and concepts that appear on the AMC 8 test. Join us as we go over common concepts and problems on the AMC 8, test taking strategies, and special tricks used to solve many types of AMC 8 problems. For more details, see the attached syllabus.

Chem 101 - AP Edition

Duration: 20 Lectures + 10 Tutorials, 2 hours each

Time: Lectures - Monday and Friday at 6:30 PM PST , Tutorials - Every Wednesday at 6:30 PM PST, starting TBD

Description: Chem101 - AP Edition is meant to introduce students to chemistry and cover the AP curriculum while doing so. We begin by getting to know about the atomic structure and then build elements from atoms. Once we understand elements, we understand the process of building molecules. Molecules form matter and we visit the mathematical models that describe matter. Then, we discuss about energy! Chemical energy is the backbone of modern society and this module aims at equipping you with a basic understanding of energy phenomena. Our ride continues into the module of equilibrium and answer how much a reaction produces. Then we answer how fast a reactions proceed. We end this course by putting our knowledge to a test and thinking about several uses of chemical reactions. Join us as we explore some of the biggest questions humanity has answered. Physics: Introduction to Mechanics

Duration: 15 classes, 2 hours each

Time: Every Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm PST, starting 6/25/22

Description: Mechanics is the study of the motion of objects, and in this introductory course, you will learn topics such as Kinematics, Dynamics, Energy, Gravitation, Rotation, and Oscillations. If you are looking to learn more about Physics, this course is the place to start! This course will cover a bit more than the AP Physics 1 curriculum as we also use some basic (and optional) Calculus. If you are a math lover or just someone with a curious or imaginative mind, this course is perfect for you!

Introduction to Java Programming

Description: This course focuses on more complex topics and will require that you have a good understanding of the Java Programming Language. This course should be helpful as a preparation for the APCS A course. Some of the content we will cover at a glance are Abstract Classes, Linked Lists, Sorting Algorithms and Object Oriented Programming methodologies. This is course is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of complex but interesting java topics!

Introduction to Competitive Programming

Duration: 6 classes, 1 hour and 30 minutes each

Time: Every Wednesday at 3:00 pm to 4:30pm PST and Saturday at 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm PST, starting 7/6/22

Description: The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to competitive programming & algorithmic thinking, and will heavily use (though not only) USACO problems as an example. The content will cover bronze division material, and some silver division material. This course will use Java.
